Racha's Hypnotic Bach
"Occasionally a recital comes along which, thanks to the
chemistry which must existed between the artists and the production
team, seems like really a recital and not just a string of recordings
strung together. The apogee of Arodaky's strange,
ethereal style comes midway through the disc with a transcription of the
slow movement of the A Minor Violin Concerto, set like a jewel among
the Partitas. The movement is an exquisite creature on any occasion and
any grounds, but somehow after hearing it after 30 minutes of minor key
music made it seem all the more compassionate, after which the B Flat
Major Partita followed like a fresh spring brook. The piano sound is
unfailingly lovely at any volume, and sports a slightly pearlescent
bloom to the striking of the keys".
